Starches and Flours
TAPIOCA (CASSAVA) BASED
Due to our local presence in Thailand, Eco Agri can offer a wide range of tapioca starches and flours that contribute to increasing demand for non-allergen, non-GMO, and gluten-free ingredients. Over the years, these tapioca-based ingredients have been developed to replace traditionally used modified (waxy) corn starches and wheat starches in various applications. They are also used as prebiotics.
Native Tapioca Starch
Used as a thickener and stabilizer in puddings, breads, sauces, fruit pies, and meat products.
Coarse Grade Native Tapioca Starch
An agglomerated native tapioca starch used in production environments where dust reduction is crucial.
Waxy Tapioca Starch
An amylose-free starch with up to 100% amylopectin content, performing well in refrigerated and frozen foods. This unmodified waxy tapioca starch creates thick, clear pastes with good shelf life and provides a clean-label alternative to chemically or genetically modified starches in cold applications.
ALPHA (α) Pre-gelatinized Starch
A cold-water-swelling tapioca starch, processed to create a powder with a smooth surface, suitable for multiple food applications. This starch is instantly soluble in cold water, quickly thickening upon addition to aqueous preparations.
Modified Tapioca Starches
These starches are used in a wide variety of food applications, depending on the type of modification (chemical or physical). Chemically modified starches are categorized as food additives, while physically modified starches can be labeled as clean label ingredients.
Resistant Tapioca Starch
A prebiotic that contributes to daily fiber intake and gut health, resistant starch does not digest in the stomach or small intestine, thereby not raising glucose levels while supporting beneficial gut bacteria through fermentation.
Tapioca Fiber
A versatile ingredient used in gluten and grain-free recipes, desserts, and puddings, as well as a thickener in soups, sauces, and gravies. It also serves as a binding agent to improve texture and moisture content in plant-based burgers.
Cassava Flour
A non-GMO and allergy-friendly alternative to wheat flour for baking applications such as tortillas, cupcakes, bread, puddings, and gravies. Cassava flour provides a smoother and fiber-rich texture than tapioca starch.
Tapioca Pearls
Edible translucent spheres offered in various sizes and colors, used in bubble tea and as additions in puddings. Originally a cost-effective alternative to pearl sago in Southeast Asian cuisine.
